INVISIBLE HAND CAPITAL

Invisible Hand Capital is a proprietary trading firm, trading digital asset markets around the clock.

The firm

Dinner arrives. Nobody arranged it.

It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest.

Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations, 1776

No committee sets the price. It is settled continuously by self-interested parties quoting at each other. We are one of them, and so is whoever takes the other side.

Invisible Hand Capital trades digital asset markets at the highest frequency. We commit our own capital, take no outside money and manage none on anyone else’s behalf. There are no clients to answer to and no mandate to drift from.

Smith’s merchants went home at night. Ours is the first market in history that never closes: no jurisdiction, no holiday, no weekend. The book is never unattended, and the machinery never gets a quiet Sunday in which to be repaired.

How we work

Small, and built in-house.

  1. 01Capital The firm trades only its own money. Losses are absorbed by the people who run it and by nobody else.
  2. 02Engineering The trading stack is written and maintained here, from the network layer up.
  3. 03Measurement Changes are justified by measurement rather than by argument, and reverted when the measurement disagrees.
  4. 04Structure Research and engineering are one team. Whoever finds something is responsible for running it.
  5. 05Cover The markets never close, so the desk is staffed continuously.
Careers

We hire slowly and give people room.

There is no research division and no engineering division; there is one floor, and the person who found the thing is the person who ships it. We look for people who are uncomfortable being certain, and who can keep a confidence without being reminded to.

  • Low-Latency Engineer, C++ / Rust
